Union City presented the launch of the Union City ARPA Small Business Grant program, which dedicates $1 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to provide direct aid to Union City small businesses that have likely experienced hardship from the COVID-19 disaster. To aid those most in need and provide for easier application, the City will prioritize the review of applications from businesses located within Qualified Census Tracts (QCT) or Opportunity Zones within.
Small businesses located in a QCT/Opportunity Zone have fewer submittal requirements and received a flat grant of $12,000. Those eligible businesses not located in a QCT/Opportunity Zone will need to document economic losses via multiple tax returns and will be awarded funds based on the documented loss amount - up to a $12,000 maximum.
Registration is closed as the program ended July 15, 2024.
