Angelette Mealing
Since elected Councilmember Mealing has been a grassroots leader fighting for public safety, youth initiatives, safe neighborhoods, economic recovery, and the overall improvement of the quality of life in Union City.
Councilmember Mealing has worked tirelessly to present the issues and concerns of the citizens of Union City to the City Council. Key issues that Councilmember Mealing continues to fight for are community policing, jobs, education, youth initiatives, better infrastructure, safe neighborhoods, economic growth, and development in Union City.
Councilmember Mealing represents the initiative, integrity and experience needed to make sure that citizens and the community of Union City have a seat at the table and ensures that their voices are heard.
Councilmember Mealing has over 15 years of government and private sector experience in planning and community development. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from Talladega College, with Post Graduate studies in Physics from Florida A & M University and a Graduate Certificate in Maternal and Child Epidemiology from the University of Arizona. She is a Data Analyst working within healthcare.
Councilmember Mealing serves in leadership roles on both federal and state levels. She is a Board Member of Georgia Municipal Association, a member of the National League of Cities’ Small Cities Committee and the Finance, Administration and Intergovernmental Relations Policy Committee. She served several years on the National League of Cities Leadership Training Council. She is also a member of Georgia Planning Association and the American Planning Association.
