Mayor Vince Williams and Council invite you to Union City's 2021 State of the City Address.

 This year’s theme, “Our Piece of the Promise,” highlights the City’s navigation through COVID-19, accomplishments of the past year and what lies on the horizon for 2021 and beyond.

Union City Mayor Vince Williams will deliver his annual state of the city address on Tuesday, March 16 at 6:00 p.m. Due to social distancing concerns, the mayor’s broadcast will be virtual and streamed via YouTube and social media. 

The mayor’s address is themed, “Our Piece of the Promise” and will highlight the City’s preparedness for and response to the Covid-19 pandemic, accomplishments of the past year and what lies on the horizon in 2021 as we continue to rebuild, revitalize and rebrand Union City. 

Fox 5 reporter and anchor, Deidra Dukes will be the host and emcee for the event. 

Additionally, viewers can expect performances from local artists, and surprise special guest appearances by local leaders including Atlanta Mayor, Keisha Lance Bottoms.

This year’s State of City Address will also highlight areas to improve quality of life for the City including enhanced public safety initiatives; increased awareness of arts and culture in the community; interactive communication channels between residents and City administration; strengthened relationships with community partners and residents; and a continued focus toward City green space, parks and public facility improvements. 

“While the pandemic has certainly impacted Union City, we continue to pull together as a community,” stated Mayor Williams. “The Council and I look forward to creating a collective vision for our City’s future that capitalizes our innate strength and positions us for a strong recovery in 2021 and beyond.”
