Potholes
To report a pothole please call Public Services between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday (770) 306-6855. We will have someone come out to access the problem within 24 hours. We may use temporary measurers (crusher run or cold mix) to patch until we have several areas that need to be asphalted. We normally asphalt 2-3 times per year.
Street Light Outage
You can call Georgia Power directly to report a street light outage by calling 1-888-891-0938. You will need the closest address to the pole. You can also report an outage online at GA Power.
Litter Control
The Street Division is responsible for the removal of litter from all public property. We have several programs in place to combat the ongoing litter problem.
Trash Cans
There are approximately 55 trash cans throughout the City in the high traffic areas. Employees check these cans once a week.
If you would like to request a trash can in a public area, please call Public Services at (770) 306-6855.
Community Service
The judge may sentence people to perform community service. An employee of the Street Division takes each community service worker to designated areas where they pick up trash. The community service workers are also utilized on the weekends by the Police Department.
Signs
The Street Division is responsible for the placement, maintenance and replacement of all City road signs. The Union City Police Department decides where each sign will be placed and request to have it installed. This does not include signs on state roads such as Hwy 138 or Hwy 29. Those are installed and maintained by GDOT.
If you see a damaged sign or one that has graffiti on it please notify the Public Services Department at (770) 306-6855.
