• (Total Appraised Value of the property) x (40%) x (Millage rate) / (1,000)For example, the tax for a property valued at $100,000 would be calculated as follows:
$100,000 x 0.40 = $40,000
$40,000 x 10.598 mills = $423,920
$423,920 / 1,000 = $423.92 annual property tax- If a residence has been vacant for over 6 months you will need an electrical permit to get power turned back on. Once the inspection takes place, then the permit office will notify the power company to release electricity on the property.
